"Internet body approves corporate Web suffixes"

"The Internet's global coordinator on Monday approved the creation of website addresses ending in corporate names, triggering one of the biggest ever shake-ups in how the Web operates.

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) voted overwhelmingly in favour of the proposal at a meeting in Singapore despite fears the shift would cause some confusion and favour large companies.

"This is the biggest change to domain names since the creation of '.com' 26 years ago," said Theo Hnarakis, chief executive of Melbourne IT Digital Brand Services, a California-based company that provides online branding advice.

Under the changes, businesses will no longer be restricted to the list of generic top level domains (gTLDs) that include .com, .net and .org when they apply to register a website address."

"Asia has more millionaires than Europe"

"The number of millionaires in Asia-Pacific has jumped sharply to overtake Europe, a study said on Thursday, driven by the fast-rising super-rich population of Hong Kong.

Millionaires in Asia-Pacific became worth more collectively than their counterparts in Europe in 2009, but there are also now more of them, at 3.3 million in the region, versus 3.1 million in Europe."

"HANOVER, Germany - Always window-shopping but never stopping to buy? In the future you can do both with new technology allowing you to point through the window at items and buy them with a swish of your hand.

The technology, already making a splash at the CeBIT, the world's biggest high-tech fair, uses a series of infrared cameras that register the movements of your hand and instantly transmit them to a large screen in the shop window.

The shopper stands about a metre away from the glass and simply points to the desired dress, hat, bag or shoes."

"Anti-foaming agent found in Chicken McNuggets"

"Ever wonder what's really found in Chicken McNuggets? Some of the ingredients, it turns out, seem to belong more to an industrial factory of some kind, not a food retailer. According to the McDonald's Corporation, its famous Chicken McNuggets are made with ingredients including autolyzed yeast extract (which contain free glutamate, similar to MSG), sodium phosphates and sodium aluminum phosphate. But that's not the freaky part. According to McDonald's own website, Chicken McNuggets are also made with "hydrogenated soybean oil with TBHQ and citric acid added to preserve freshness" and......"
