Bombing Our Way into a Greener Tomorrow

If you’ve ever donned industrial-strength bug repellent and headed “up north” or “out west” to plant trees (or know someone who has), “tree-bombing” might make more sense to you than to someone who hasn’t suffered the slings and arrows and mozzies and aching lower back that tree planter’s flesh is heir to. And, no – tree-bombing doesn’t mean taking revenge on trees for the low pay and poor working conditions tree planters are traditionally subjected to – it means carpet-bombing deforested or remote areas with baby trees from a retrofitted C-130 military transport plane, like a giant delivery stork accidentally on purpose dropping its precious load.

Opinion: Frugal billionaires

There is a divide in today's billionaires. Some spend generously, purchasing no small amount of expensive, superfluous trinkets. Others approach their finances in a pragmatic way, based on their needs. The latter is a much better example to follow, as the common citizen cannot afford to allocate resources poorly. The general monetary advice these economical billionaires can offer a community member is to spend wisely, and only on necessities. A bachelor does not need a mansion; it's akin to swatting a fly with a 747.  An accountant does not need a large pickup if he will only be driving it to work and back, as his career does not necessitate the need for such a powerful vehicle.

Everyone wants more. The industrial world must become increasingly aware of consumer demographics when attempting to market a product. Even as a consumer, it may be helpful to know what drives you to make the purchases you do. Evolutionary psychology, one of the most promising branches of the cognitive field, seems to indicate that men are more materialistic than women, though ironically as a consequence of trying to attract the opposite sex.

Many pet owners are awaken by their pets demanding their attention.  In the case of cats, not only do they get the attention but they can actually make their owner take the action they want with a simple purr.
