"Researchers announced the warning after studying the effects of radiation on aircraft crew and passengers during long-haul flights.

Billions of extra-terrestrial rays and particles could shower the Earth threatening the safety of planes and passengers, an expert has warned.

Dramatic changes in solar activity could raise the risk of cancerous damage to the cells of those on board planes flying over the Poles, claims professor of space environment physics Mike Lockwood."

According to a study to be discussed this month at a gathering of Nobel prizewinners, people blessed with more symmetrical facial features, which are considered more attractive, are less likely to co-operate and more likely to selfishly focus on their own interests."

"Young people 'bored' with social media"

"A key group of young users of Facebook, Twitter and YouTube users are using the site less and less, according to new research. One in four 18-29 year-olds told Gartner that their use of social media had declined since they signed up, with many citing boredom as their reason for the decline.

By contrast, other consumers, however, reported that their enthusiasm was unabated, as 37 per cent claimed that they were actually using social media more than they had been in the past."

"Barack Obama, the US President, has joined Foursquare, the social network that allows users to ‘check-in’ to specific locations and share their tips on where they’ve been.

President Obama, whose administration is already active on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, has joined Foursquare to tie in with his new bus tour, which many commentators have described as crucial for the success of his bid for re-election."
